Pleased to meet you! Is this your best week yet? Thank you for asking, my life has been wonderful!
There have been a slew of household projects taking up most of my free time, include but are not restricted to deep cleaning, furniture shopping, and rearranging my laundry room, just to name a few. Since I started my new schedule, I’ve reaped the benefits of my free time to improve my workouts. I’ll have a full recap of the week up soon, but for now, I wanted to highlight my leg day superset workout for Workout Thursday.
The term “superset” refers to the practise of doing two exercises consecutively without taking a break. Exercises that target similar or slightly opposing muscle groups can be alternated with exercises that target the cardiovascular system. It is a time-saving method of overloading your muscles while trying to add variety to ones workouts by utilising supersets.
Being able to lift anything I want is one of my favourite aspects of my new gym, which is conveniently located near my home. As a result, my legs are quite sore today after taking full advantage of it on Tuesday. After a half-mile run to the gym, I did two sets of three reps each of two different superset exercises. I completed seven sets of 10 repetitions each, resting for only a minute in between each set of exercise. I ran home as fast as I could after finishing my work.
Isn’t that the case? Please don’t be deceived. Squats with a barbell can be made more difficult by adding weight between sets. Every two sets, I increased the weight on my bar by ten pounds, and by the end of the workout, my legs looked like noodles.
I’m now on my way to the YMCA, where I’ll be working the cycle-a-thon to raise funds for summer program. Wishing you a wonderful day!
