Welcome back! I hope your Thanksgiving was full of love, good food, and not too many calories! Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. We went to Center City to watch the parade and then made a feast for two!
What do you think of our matching Dunkin Doughnuts hats?!
Thanksgiving (30)
I can’t believe it’s time to hit the grind stone and start the final trek to the end of the calender year. If you aren’t completely shopped out from Black Friday, small business Saturday, or whatever holiday shopping name Sunday has, here are my top fit gifts for 2014!
Monthly subscriptions:
Whether it’s a healthy snack service (Bulu box) something for your puppy (Bark box), a weekly workout (Little Green Running Shoes), new clothes (Fabletics, Stich Fix), or finding new running products (Runner Box) there’s a subscription for everything! I have been dying to sign up for Bark box for months, I know Lilly would LOVE getting new goodies each month.
Apera gym bag:
Christmas came early for me this year, when Jon surprised me with a new gym bag from Apera. I had been admiring this company for a long time. Apera bags are designed for a healthy lifestyle and feature all the qualities of a “gym goers” ideal bag. Their anti-microbial material, vented compartments, wipe-able linings (to let the stink out), and washable inserts for dirty clothes are all included in the price of each bag. Yoga totes and simple drawstring sling bags are just a few of the many styles they produce. I currently own the yoga tote and use it for work at the gym everyday. I can fit a TON of stuff in it and it’s super durable.
Immediately after I got my bag, I purchased the duffel pack for Jon to use as a gym bag. We are officially an Apera family! They are pricey but well worth the cost, seeing as I plan to use mine for years and years.
Camelback water bottle:
I have been a Tervis fan for years but every one I get, leaks! So I’m converting back to Camelback now that they have come out with a water bottle that doesn’t require a straw. I’m all about a tough bottle that will endure whatever my life decides to dictate that day. I drop my water bottles regularly, not to mention they are constantly being used. The more fortified and durable the bottle is the more attractive it is to me.
TRX:
Body weight resistance training has come back into style in the fitness industry. Pull-ups and push-ups can only be performed so many times before you reach a plateau. Suspension training is a way to build muscle mass without spending a lot of money on expensive equipment. With the TRX, you can challenge yourself while using your own body weight and leverage. When a Navy Seal needed a tough but portable workout while being on the road, he created the plank. It has become a fitness industry mainstay and is transforming the way a growing number of people exercise. This guy has been at the top of my Christmas shopping list.
Race Entry:
If you’re looking for a fun way to give a personal gift this year and your “giftee” is a runner, consider purchasing them a race entry. Obviously you would want to make sure they are available that date, but it would be a memorable experience that is forever linked to your generosity!
Nutribullet:
I received a Nutribullet last April for my birthday and it has been my favorite appliance this year. You can make all sorts of healthy smoothies, juices, and shakes in it for a fraction of the cost and the mess. It’s small and comes with multiple attachments for plenty of cup or lid options. It’s perfect for someone who enjoys a homemade smoothie but hates the mess a blender can make. My favorite thing to make in my Nutribullet are homemade milkshakes… I mean super healthy smoothies!
